I’m still not entirely sure which language I should primarily write my blog in – German or English?
Of course, I want to offer an English version for my international friends.
Especially since my move to Dubai in 2012, English has been my main communication language, at least when it comes to writing. This is not only because I use a US American keyboard layout and inserting German umlauts is a bit cumbersome, but also because my German spelling, in my opinion, has suffered quite a bit.
For me, it’s now easier to write in English than in German. It somehow feels “streamlined and concise,” to get things to the point in a simple and clear language.
“Simple” is probably the key word. As a non-native speaker, even after many years, my English is far from being prone to rambling.
Although, I’m sure my active English vocabulary is still larger and more diverse than Donald Trump’s elementary school level.
However, precise observations and descriptions are best done in the native language – and sometimes even in the Ruhrpott dialect.
Let’s see how that goes.
I’ve technically figured out how to handle this in WordPress. I might share more about that later.
